Consistent with ACE’s approach to major special events, schedules are designed to bring passengers to the venue area ahead of kickoff and provide return service following the conclusion of regulation play.
Lisa Craig-Hensley, Chair of the San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission Board, said: “The FIFA World Cup represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to welcome visitors from around the world and showcase our region. Through special ACE service, we are helping create a more accessible and connected experience while demonstrating the important role passenger rail plays in supporting major international events.”
The ACE special event service during FIFA World Cup matches is supported by funding received from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) through funds provided by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) following the SJRRC’s application for costs associated with providing special event transit service during FIFA World Cup matches.
ACE World Cup special event service offers fans a convenient and comfortable travel option with amenities including free Wi-Fi, comfortable seating, charging ports, onboard restrooms, accessible boarding, and early arrival before the match experience.

Information for Regular ACE Riders & Shuttle Users
ACE trains and shuttle connections are expected to continue operating during FIFA match days; however, customers traveling for regular work and commute trips should expect operational impacts in the Great America and Levi’s Stadium area.
“Hosting FIFA World Cup matches in our region is an exciting moment, and we recognize that major events of this scale create impacts for our regular riders as well,” said Chris Orlando, CEO of the San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission. “ACE is working to maintain reliable service while providing customers with clear information and travel options so riders can plan ahead and continue getting where they need to go throughout the tournament.”
Passengers traveling through Great America Station should plan ahead and allow additional travel time due to heavier traffic, increased security activity, temporary vehicle access controls, and reduced parking availability near the station. Pedestrian access to the station is expected to remain available.
Some ACE shuttle operations will be modified during FIFA events to maintain train connections under expected traffic conditions. Certain shuttle connections will operate through Santa Clara Station instead of Great America Station, and riders should monitor service alerts before traveling.
Passengers are encouraged to arrive earlier than usual, consider alternate transportation options where possible, and follow posted signs and staff direction on event days.

SJRRC will continue providing updates to both special event passengers and regular ACE riders regarding operational changes and service adjustments as additional information becomes available.
