Quest Science Center Brings New York Times Hard Fork Hosts Kevin Roose and Casey Newton to Livermore for Community AI Conversation

Quest On Stage, New Speaker Series continues August 14 with The AI Revolution at the Bankhead Theater, exploring how artificial intelligence is transforming the way we live, work, and learn. The event features Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory's Brian Giera and includes live audience Q&A.

LIVERMORE, Calif. — Quest Science Center's new Quest on Stage speaker series kicks off its next event with The AI Revolution, featuring Kevin Roose and Casey Newton, hosts of Hard Fork, the acclaimed New York Times podcast that explores the world of technology, on Friday, August 14 at the Bankhead Theater in Livermore.

Artificial intelligence is reshaping the way we work, learn, communicate, create, and make decisions. During this engaging live conversation, Roose and Newton will cover the current AI landscape and help audiences separate what's real from what's hype, explore how AI is influencing everyday life, examining the opportunities and challenges shaping our future.

Following the sold-out success of The Resilient Brain on June 23 at the Bankhead Theater, featuring Stanford University neurologist Dr. Sharon J. Sha, The AI Revolution continues Quest on Stage's commitment to exploring timely scientific and technological topics that have local relevancy.  

The evening will include a special opportunity to connect the global conversation around AI with the impact on scientific research taking place at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) with guest Brian Giera, Associate Program Director for Data Science, AI, and Manufacturing at LLNL. Giera will share how AI is transforming scientific research and accelerating discoveries that could shape the future of energy, medicine, engineering, national security and beyond. The program will close with substantial time for audience Q&A.

Quest on Stage, A New Way to Engage with Science

Quest on Stage is Quest Science Center's new speaker series designed to spark curiosity and connect the Tri-Valley community with the science, technology, and innovation shaping the future. The series brings leading scientists, researchers, journalists, innovators, and thought leaders into direct conversation with the community through events focused on the discoveries and technologies people are hearing about every day and want to better understand.
