6/12/26 PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Museum on Main Goes Wicket Crazy with Cricket Exhibit

The sport of cricket has enjoyed amazing growth in the Bay Area over the last couple of decades, as immigrants from South Asia and other parts of the former British Empire turn their passion for the game into leagues and fields and training facilities and tickets sold for professional matches. Thousands of young cricketers play in the Bay Area’s youth leagues every year, and several training facilities and pro shops have sprung up to provide them with equipment and practice opportunities. Dedicated cricket fields have been built at parks and schools around the Bay Area, including several in the Tri-Valley. The San Francisco Unicorns of Major League Cricket will play their fourth season this summer with home games at the Oakland Coliseum.

Pleasanton’s Museum on Main welcomes this development in the culture of the Bay Area with an exhibit called Wicket Crazy: Cricket and the Tri-Valley. This show, which will run from mid-June through the first week of September, will explore how the game is played, the history of cricket, and local influence that cricket has on our community. In this exhibit the museum hopes to spotlight and represent the growing cricket community in the Tri-Valley, as well as educate people who are unfamiliar with it. In this show you will learn all about how this community has grown and developed over the years.

This special exhibit will feature renowned national players along with some of the Tri-Valleys’ very own cricket stars, such as, Saanvi Immadi, Geetika Kodali, Anita Kolan, Maahi Madhavan, and Sindhu Sriharsha. The Museum will also have a wide array of cricket memorabilia and equipment displayed that you’ll have the opportunity to learn all about, such as autographed cricket bats from the San Francisco Unicorns, jerseys from the San Ramon Grizzlies, and a diorama field that you can simulate your own plays with.
This exhibit would not have been possible without the help of local sponsors kindly lending their knowledge and artifacts for this show. Special thanks to Ramesh Immadi of Cricket Champs, San Ramon Cricket Organization, and Dublin Cricket Team, Pradeep Routray of Elite Indoor Cricket Dublin, David White of the San Francisco Unicorns, and last but certainly not least, Samir Shah of the San Ramon Grizzlies.

Pleasanton’s Museum on Main encourages everyone, professionals or novice, to come and check out this exhibit and learn something new about the amazing sport of cricket.
Wicket Crazy will be on display at Museum on Main from Tuesday, June 16 through Saturday, September 5, 2026. Information about programs supporting the Museum’s exhibits can be found at the Museum’s website: www.museumonmain.org.
