NEW ART WALK AT FIREHOUSE TO HONOR THE HARRINGTONS
July 10, 2024
10:00-11:00 a.m.
The museum proudly announces its partnership with the Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council to offer a free 1-hour tour of the Public Art pieces at the Firehouse Arts Center and at the Museum on Main.
Come and enjoy the stories of the twelve artworks donated by Gary and Nancy Harrington that grace the inside and outside of the Firehouse Arts Center. Learn about the artists who created these enduring works. Each piece represents the generosity of the Harringtons’ and their unique contribution to the public memory of Pleasanton. These monuments form our collective memory. Then, discover three more works of art a block away outside of the Museum on Main.
At the Firehouse, come sit next to Monet, marvel at dancers in ‘pas de deux’, meet the four amazing works of a female blacksmith and gaze in awe at the optic wonders of a crystal bell. Twelve monuments await your reflection and inspiration.“ Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council is grateful for the opportunity to honor Gary and Nancy Harrington through this partnership with the Museum on Main’s Harrington Free Art Walks. Our intent is to bring a rich understanding of their many artwork donations to Pleasanton”, notes Kelly Cousins, PCAC’s president.
The tour starts at the Firehouse Arts Center at 10 AM and will end one block away at the Museum on Main Street so that participants can learn about three additional pieces of Public Art in front of the museum.
Tours are limited to 25 people so pre-registration is required. Call the museum at (925)462-2766 to reserve your spot for the Harrington Art Walk Tours.
