ABOUT OUR HOSTS:
UNCLE Credit Union
In 1957, four physicists employed by the Lab pooled their funds to form Radiation Laboratory Livermore Credit Union – offering financial services to the entire Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory community. As the cooperative grew in size and financial strength, it broadened its charter and expanded its offerings to include an evolving array of competitive products and services. In 1988, the credit union was renamed UNCLE Credit Union, a shortened form of University of California Livermore Employees Credit Union.
Today, UNCLE Credit Union offers the benefits of credit union membership to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Alameda, Contra Costa, San Joaquin, or Stanislaus counties. We provide a wide range of financial solutions including checking and savings accounts, consumer and auto loans, mortgage products, credit cards, business banking, and a full spectrum of investment and financial planning services available under our Wealth Management Center. An ongoing investment in infrastructure, technology and talent also contribute to an enhanced banking experience with a focus on convenience, personalized service, and financial education. In addition to five financial centers and 24/7 online and mobile banking services, UNCLE provides our members with access to 5,000+ shared branches and nearly 30,000 ATMs via the CO-OP Shared Branching Network.
Over the past 65 years, we've grown to more than $730 million in assets, 38,000 members, and continue to evolve as we strive to provide a seamless experience for our members with an array of innovative, high-value products, ease of convenience, and exceptional service.
Much Ado About Pizza
Much Ado About Pizza, founded in 2021 by Kira and Mark Zabrowski, brings a Shakespearean twist to artisanal pizza. What began as a pandemic passion project turned into a full-fledged business when Kira, a former English and Theatre Arts teacher of 25 years, discovered her love for baking sourdough after reading Ken Forkish's book Flour, Water, Salt, Yeast.
Inspired to become a pizzaiola, she and Mark, both former educators, crafted a business plan and transitioned from teaching to entrepreneurship. The pizzeria, located in Pleasanton's Mission Plaza Shopping Center, features "The Bard's Signature Pies," crafted with a 72-hour fermented dough and house-made tomato sauce with no added sugar. Cleverly named pizzas, such as Taming of the Chew and Ham-Let, reflect their Shakespearean theme. With hand-tossed crusts and creative flair, Much Ado About Pizza blends literary charm with gourmet flavor in a cozy, carry-out setting.
